ZRdb KZFP & Repeats
Yang Lab · Tongji University

Read the genome through KZFPs and repeats.

ZRdb links KRAB zinc-finger proteins to the LTR, SINE, LINE and SVA elements they bind — with sequences, domain architecture, motifs and ChIP-seq evidence ranked by reliability.

About

What is ZRdb?

ZRdb is a database describing both KZFPs and repeats — including LTR, SINE, LINE and SVA elements. It collects sequences, domain architecture and DNA-binding specificity for each KZFP, alongside the classification and consensus sequence of each repeat family.

Using published ChIP-seq data, ZRdb also describes the repression and co-evolution relationship between KZFPs and repeats, and ranks those relationships by confidence so that weak predictions are not mistaken for measured binding.

Curated KZFP annotation

UniProt annotation scores, domain architecture, cellular localisation and pathway context for every protein.

Repeat consensus

Dfam-based classification with consensus sequences and genome-wide distribution on hg19 and hg38.

Ranked binding evidence

Peak overlap, motif-in-repeat and motif-in-consensus, reported as three explicit confidence levels.

Look up a protein or a repeat element

Type a gene symbol to see its motifs, peaks and repeat targets, or type a repeat family name to see which KZFPs are predicted — or measured — to bind it.
